Have you ever fallen into the trap of blaming either others, the circumstances and even yourself for things that went wrong with you?

I think it’s safe to say that the answer to these questions for most of us including myself is yes.

It feels easier to blame others or your circumstances, the pandemic is a great example of everything wrong that happens to you because as it is external to you it isn’t your responsibility. As you stepped out of the problem it feels that it is not your responsibility and it has nothing to do with you.

Even when you blame yourself, your focus is on the blame.

When you are in the blaming mindset you lose the ability to change things around and you also lose the ability to break negative behavioural patterns. You keep repeating the same mistake over and over again and therefore you get stuck.

Now, you may be wondering what to do.

The main thing to do is to shift your mindset from blaming to taking responsibility for everything that happens to you.

That may feel extreme, but when you are in the mindset of responsibility you know you become aware that you have control of the problem. When you have control of the problem you can reverse it to find a solution.

Besides, when you take control of the problem you can ask yourself what happened, how can I change it and who can help me. These questions help you to get unstuck. They allow you to take action towards finding a solution to the problem.

Let’s take action right now.

Whenever you realise, whenever you become aware that you are blaming and therefore giving control of the problem to factors external to you, stop what you are doing and shift the mindset from blaming to responsibility and solution.

Only then you will have the ability to change things around. Besides you know that you don’t have to solve the problem alone, you can always ask for help.

Only when you are in the responsibility mindset, you’ll be able to interrupt negative behavioural patterns and assume behaviours that are useful for you to thrive.

Now, if just considering shifting your mindset proves to be hard or even not possible, then let’s have a chat.
