What are the benefits of positive thinking?
There is no more powerful resource than positive thinking. However, and there is a however for powerful thinking to work there has to be a connection between what you are saying to yourself and what you are really feeling.
If you are feeling great and you are saying to yourself the same thing, then there is a true connection between your words and your feelings.
Now, if you are not feeling good and you are saying to yourself that you are just for the sake of it, repeating “I’m feeling good” but not feeling it then there is a disconnection between your words and your feelings. And whenever there is a disconnection there is conflict. It feels as if your mind is saying something, but you are feeling the opposite.
Let me give you an example. Whatever you do be it sitting for an interview, writing a proposal to a client, planning a holiday, tec. you expect to have results.
During this process, you feel confident and you say to yourself “I’ve nailed it.” So, there is a connection between your words and your feelings.
Then when you have the results and they are not what you had expected, it is only natural that you feel disappointed.
At this point, if you say to yourself that you are fine and not feeling it, that’s when you create a conflict. It is also when you need to shift from positive thinking to honest thinking.
Honest thinking is when you allow yourself to feel disappointed and you admit to yourself that you are disappointed. The minute you do that you create a connection, an honest connection.
As soon as you are honest with your thinking your mind creates possibilities and resources: you get curious and you ask yourself what you can do differently in order to get the results you want.
The moment that you are aware of the connection you will notice the shift from honest to positive thinking.

The first thing to do is to be aware if there is a connection between your words and your feelings.
If it is great. If there isn’t start with honest thinking, stay with it until you notice the shift to positive thinking.
Be honest with your feelings.
Allow them to flow.
