There is a myriad of health routines for you to choose from to keep your physical and mental health in top form.

There are several different kinds of exercises, there are many nutritional programmes, there is meditation, relaxation, journaling, mindfulness and so and I can tell you right now that all of them work.

Among all these things you can do to keep your mental and physical health at their optimum knowing that they are all excellent, the question you should ask yourself is which one is good for you.

However, before you answer this question, I would like you to consider two very important elements for any routine to work for you.

These two elements are equally the key for you to stick to any chosen routine because one element relies on the other to work.

First, choose a routine that gives joy, satisfaction and pleasure so it doesn’t become a chore. Choose a routine that motivates you to do it even when perhaps you are tired and not really feeling up to doing it.

Second, the routine you choose needs to be realistic to your circumstances. It needs to fit in your now moment and your lifestyle.

In other words, your routine needs to be in balance with your life. If it is not in balance with what you do at any now moment you will sabotage it. You will give it up after a very short period of time, hence compromising your physical and mental health.

It is not good for you to have the willpower but not the time or for you to have the time but not the willpower to stick to a routine.

Balance is the key for you to have a healthy routine.

Think about a health routine that fits in your daily life and choose one that you know you will stick to it. If you are not sure which one to choose, try out a few and see which one gives you the most joy and is realistic to your reality.

I say choose because it is your choice and nobody else’s.
