In this article, I’m going to give you my top 3 tips on how to get anxiety under control naturally.

You cannot get rid of Anxiety because it is an emotion, just like Anger, Sadness and Fear. (Read more: How to stop feeling…)

So, although you cannot get rid of it, you can keep it under control.

All of us have experienced Anxiety to some extent or degree at some point in our lives.

We know exactly how we feel.

For example, when we do something that is completely outside our comfort zone. (Read more: Fear of change: out of your comfort zone)

Move house, buy a home, start a family, go for that job interview, scale up your business. Anything outside of our comfort zone is going to give us a little bit of anxiety, which is not a problem.

But if anxiety goes unchecked it can become a huge problem.

So Tip #1 and the most important rule, in my opinion, is pay attention to your emotions.

It is very easy for us when we have physical pain, like a toothache or a headache, to take action immediately. We take a pain killer and it’s done.

It’s not so easy with our emotions. We need to pay attention to our emotions. So, we can keep them under control, especially in the case of Anxiety.

There is only one person in this world that knows exactly how you feel.

That person is you. Nobody else does. Even if you share how you feel, someone else may have an idea but they don’t feel your emotions or pain.

When you feel something unusual, try asking yourself 3 questions:

  1. “what is it that I’m feeling?”
  2. “Am I worried about money, about my goals?”
  3. “How can I deal with it?”

And if the answer to this question is

“I don’t know”

then ask yourself

“who can help me?”

Then, go and seek help.

The second tip is related to the anxiety as such that is linked to the future.

You don’t get anxious about the past, you may feel frustrated or have regrets. Similarly, you don’t get anxious about now.

You do get anxious about the future.

For example, anxious about money and how you are going to be able to pay your bills at the end of the month. Or maybe anxious about how you will achieve your goals.

So, this second tip is live in the now, focus on the now.

Because Now is the only time that you have control over and power over your time.

It is in the Now that you take action. It is in the now that you achieve your goals.

So, when you set up goals, you start achieving them in the now.

It is in the Now that you get overwhelmed.

If you get overwhelmed and you don’t know how to deal with it, then you take action and ask for help.

So, for example, if it’s money problems or worries, then ask someone who knows about money. A financial advisor, for example. If you don’t know one, then Google it. But take action and ask somebody who can actually help you. You do not have to everything on your own.

And when you focus on Now, then the third tip would be Take Action!

You know you have control of what’s going on in your life. It is also in the Now that you can change and adapt things you are doing or involved with.

That is going to give you confidence and power over your own time. Also, that is what keeps the anxiety under control naturally. This way, you are on top of things.

So, if you see yourself too far away in the future, get the control back. Come back to now. Even when you set yourself a time in the future, for instance,

“I will achieve this goal in a year”.

Since you are focused on now and taking action now, more often then not you may find that you will achieve your goal before the time you set yourself.
